Sophie’s Parents Can’t Recommend RCH Enough

Two years ago, on New Year’s Eve, I took Sophie to the RCH. She had been unwell, and we had gone to the doctor. She was prescribed antibiotics, but Sophie had continued to deteriorate. So off we went.

She was seen swiftly in the ED. It was determined she had appendicitis. Off to surgery, she went. It was then discovered she had a ruptured appendix with peritonitis. She spent the first 11 days at the RCH, in the Plautus ward. She needed a central line and PTN.

I can’t recommend this hospital enough. Sophie was just a little over 3 years old. I was allowed to stay and felt my concerns were listened to. A big thank you to Dr. Sebastian King, and nurses Bianca and Paula. She is now a happy and healthy five-year-old.
