Jordan joins Appeal
We are delighted to announce Jordan Ablett as a new Ambassador for the Good Friday Appeal.
Jordan Ablett is drawing on her own experience with The Royal Children’s Hospital in urging people to rally behind the Good Friday Appeal.
Jordan and husband, ex-Geelong star Gary, have shared their journey with two-year-old son Levi while he is being treated for a rare degenerative disease that was diagnosed last year.
Jordan will take on an ambassador role with the Appeal, revealing some never-before pictures of Levi in the hospital to announce her work and support.
“I’m so honoured to be working with the Good Friday Appeal as an Ambassador in their momentous 90th year of giving for the kids,’’ Jordan wrote in an Instagram post.
“My family and I have experienced first hand how important the @goodfridayappeal is to ensuring @rchmelbourne can continue to provide world class care to our beautiful children.
“Having seen Levi be cared for and loved on by such incredible doctors, nurses and hospital staff, this Appeal holds an extra special place in my heart.”
Jordan said she would work with the hospital to raise awareness across the state.
“I encourage you to give for the kids as any donation, no matter the amount, represents crucial funds that enable the life saving work of the Royal Children’s Hospital,’’ she wrote.
Jordan and Gary revealed their son’s condition in July last year.
Since Gary retired at the end of last season their priority has been spending time with family.
Jordan said recently Levi had become a shining light for others.
“We know Levi is a light in this world which is why we chose to put aside our fears of being active on social media and instead focus on the kind of impact that we know Levi’s life can have on others,’’ she said.
“We don’t ever want to hide his light from the world but instead, we want to let him shine brightly in the hope that someone else’s life will (through him) become much brighter.
“Our little superstar!”
