Good Friday Appeal Launches for 2025

The 94th annual Good Friday Appeal on Friday 18 April 2025, promises to bring Victorians together like never before.

The official Good Friday Appeal Campaign for 2025 launched at The Royal Children’s Hospital on Tuesday 3 March.

At this event the Appeal announced the faces of this year’s campaign, Mimi and Jack.

Mimi, four years old and Jack, six years old, have both been patients at The Royal Children’s Hospital since they were very young. They have both received life-saving treatment, Mimi for acute lymphoblastic leukemia and Jack for a brain tumour.

Good Friday Appeal Chairman Penny Fowler AM said:
“We are incredibly proud to reveal Jack and Mimi as the 2025 Faces of the Good Friday Appeal. Their strength and resilience are an inspiration and an example of why it is so important to rally behind The Royal Children’s Hospital.

We know it’s been a challenging time for families with cost-of-living pressures, your support is greatly appreciated. Any fundraising effort or donation big or small makes a difference contributing to groundbreaking research, cutting edge medical technology and training for staff.”

Last year over $23 million was raised by the Good Friday Appeal. This would not have been possible without the generous volunteers, fundraisers, donors and partners, who spend countless hours shaking tins, prepping for bake sales and organising local events.”

The funds raised this year by the Good Friday Appeal will further transform care at The Royal Children’s Hospital by supporting vital programs, research, and advanced equipment. Key initiatives include the Integrated RCH Apheresis Service, cutting-edge vascular access ultrasound equipment, and the TOTAL Therapy Study XVII for childhood leukaemia and lymphoma. Programs like child life therapy in the Emergency Department and a health literacy initiative further ensure families receive comprehensive support and care.

The Good Friday Appeal is committed to supporting The Royal Children’s Hospital in extending their care beyond the four walls of the hospital, building to improve the health outcomes of children all over Victoria, regardless of where they live.

For the second consecutive year, the Good Friday Appeal and The Royal Children’s Hospital are investing $3 million to bring high-quality care closer to home for children in regional areas. In 2024, six regional health services received funding, delivering life-changing improvements that will continue to positively impact countless families across regional Victoria.

Good Friday Appeal Executive Director Rebecca Cowan said:
“We know that regional communities are so important to the Good Friday Appeal. This funding will support vital projects aimed at enhancing patient care and equipping regional hospitals with much-needed resources.

The unwavering support from regional communities has helped us achieve incredible outcomes and we remain deeply committed to continuing this legacy.”

The 94th annual Good Friday Appeal on Friday 18 April 2025, promises to bring Victorians together like never before. The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre will host the much-loved Kids Day Out, supported by the City of Melbourne, featuring creative and sporting activities, carnival rides, a performance stage and the much-loved Teddy Bear Hospital.

The GFA Raffle is back with over $250,000 worth of prizes, tickets are still only $10.

And of course, Channel Seven, long standing partners with the 2025 Good Friday Appeal, will mark their 68th year and broadcast the Appeal live from 10am on free-to-air and on 7Plus.

Any support, big or small, goes a long way to supporting sick children like Jack and Mimi.
