The Good Friday Appeal is a charity that brings together people from all parts of the community to support The Royal Children’s Hospital.
The strength of the Good Friday Appeal lies with the thousands of people who volunteer their expertise, time and talent to organise fundraising activities throughout the year, culminating with a telethon on Good Friday.
Vision
To raise funds for the benefit of The Royal Children’s Hospital so that it can continue to provide world class care for Victoria’s children.Mission
To build on the great tradition of the Appeal while growing a new generation of generosity and commitment to The Royal Children’s Hospital.
Since 1931, $381 million has been raised to support research, equipment, education, training and patient centred care programs at the hospital.
This incredible contribution demonstrates the power of the community coming together to support a wonderful cause.
People get involved in the Good Friday Appeal in numerous ways, through events and collection groups in regional towns and metropolitan Melbourne as well as our official fundraisers who come up with creative ideas to bring together their family, friends and colleagues.
It is thanks to the support of the community that the Appeal continues to grow while maintaining and respecting its long and proud 89 year history.
The Good Friday Appeal is supported by a small team who works closely with our generous partners, supporters, collection groups and fundraisers by providing tools, resources and advice to support our fundraisers.
The Appeal team strives to celebrate and recognise all aspects of giving, from the five cent collections at the local school, to the printer who provides the signage on the fire trucks, to the volunteers who man the phones on Good Friday.
By listening and gaining insights into why people give, new and exciting opportunities are created to encourage people to get involved.
Thank you to communities across Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania for continuing the legacy of the Good Friday Appeal and making it what it is – the people’s charity.
With your support we can help the children at The Royal Children’s Hospital
