RECORD BREAKING FUNDRAISING RESULT FOR THE 2019 ROYAL CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL GOOD FRIDAY APPEAL
Communities from Victoria and beyond have dug deep, producing another record-breaking total for The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal with a total of $18,175,467 raised.
From tin shaking and door knocking, to raffles, fundraisers and auctions all across Victoria, rural and regional Appeal collectors collectively raised a remarkable $3,482,573. Additionally CFA collectors around the state fundraised an amazing $1,612,671.
Director of the Good Friday Appeal Anne Randall said, “The final tally could not have been reached without the dedicated communities across the state who have come together for the kids. We are so thankful to each and every person for their support.”
“We would like to take this time to acknowledge Area Managers in regional areas as well as the people in those communities for their donation; from tin rattlers, to dedicated fundraisers and of course to those organising events all across the state,” said
“All the generous donations and funds raised go towards state-of-the-art equipment and technology, patient and family centred care, research, education and training at the wonderful Royal Children’s Hospital,” she said.
The Good Friday Appeal would not have been possible without the support of its partners; the Herald and Weekly Times, Channel Seven, Telstra, the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, 3AW, ACE Radio network, Nova FM and Smooth FM. We are also grateful to have had the support of the AFL and the North Melbourne and Essendon football clubs who helped fundraise at the third annual Kick for the Kids match.
The support of ACE Radio continued to make a considerable impact for another year across country Victoria allowing the Good Friday Appeal message to be heard throughout the state. With their support, regional Victorians were able to listen to the all-day Appeal broadcast and hear stories of regional patients, volunteers and fundraisers which were shared on-air in the lead up to the event.
Since 1931 the Good Friday Appeal has now contributed more than $363 million to The Royal Children’s Hospital.
