The Good Friday Appeal invites all Victorians to come to the popular Kids Day Out, being held for the very first time at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) in South Wharf.

10 am - 5pm

The MCEC will be transformed into a wonderland for kids, with Australia’s biggest roller-skating rink, Laser Strike, the popular Teddy Bear Hospital, art and play zones, kids cooking classes, music and dancing and so much more.

Entry to the Kids Day Out is free.  Participation in activities will be $5 or under (tickets are not required to attend Kids Day Out) 

The Australasian Police & Emergency Services Games Opening Ceremony will also take place outside the Melbourne Exhibition Centre from 3pm.

The Good Friday Appeal telethon will be broadcast live across Victoria from the state-of-the-art MCEC. The telecast, supported by the Herald Sun, Channel 7 and 3AW 693, will continue into the evening with a Charity Spectacular from 7pm featuring performances by Kate Ceberano, Daryl Braithwaite, Leo Sayer, X Factor stars Samantha Jade and Nathaniel and more!

KIDS DAY OUT ACTIVITES
Entry to the Kids Day Out is free with all activities $5 or under.

 

Teddy Bear Hospital
Bring your teddy or soft toy for a check-up.

Skate Zone
Get your skates on at Australia’s biggest ever roller-skating rink! With roller skating sessions, Roller Derby exhibition games, roller disco and skate hire.

Action Zone
Go wild in the action zone with Laser Strike, kids rides, the Little Athletics running track and sessions with Melbourne Victory and the Victoria Police Soccer Club.

Art/Play Zone
Get creative in the art zone with Build-a-Bear Workshop and Art Cabriolet, learn to Zumba or Belly Dance, and get creative in the kitchen with Bubble Muffin Kids Cooking classes.

Joy Rides
Hop aboard a Harley Davidson, take ride in a convertible Mustang or cruise in a Hummer Limo.

Polly Woodside
Walk the plank and meet the Pirates aboard the Polly Woodside!

Show and Shine
Have your photo taken in a racing car or sit in the cockpit of a De Havilland aircraft.

South wharf fun and dining
Learn to juggle or walk the tight rope and enjoy the variety of restaurants along South Wharf Promenade.

3AW live broadcast
Watch all the interviews and fun of the all-day 3AW live outside broadcast.

Meet your favourite stars from Home & Away, Winners and Losers, A Place to Call Home and MKR.

How to get to the Kids Day Out

The Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre is located on Clarendon Street, South Wharf, next to the Yarra River.

TRAM: Trams 96, 112 or 109 down Spencer/Clarendon Street stop at the Clarendon Street entrance of MCEC. 

TRAIN: The closest train station is Southern Cross Station – then catch one of the above trams or take a 10 minute walk from the station.
